My parents compared me to someone else again and I am done shrinking myself for approval

It's always 'look how well so-and-so is doing.' I've spent my whole life chasing a finish line that moves every time I get close. Today I realised I will probably never be enough for the version of me they invented in their heads. It hurts, but it's also weirdly freeing. Maybe peace starts the day you stop auditioning for people who only clap conditionally.

Take the win. Genuinely. We are so quick to dismiss our small braveries, but those tiny steps are how whole lives quietly turn around.

The version of you on the other side of this is going to be so grateful you kept going on the days it felt pointless. Please keep going.
